This 4-day plastering course is designed to give you skills to be able to apply plaster / skimming to walls and a ceiling area.
During the course you will complete the following.
- Apply plaster to flat walls.
- Apply plaster to a wall with a window opening including reveals.
- Apply plaster to a ceiling.
- Apply plaster to a chimney breast area.
- Complete patch and repair work.
- Prepare backgrounds using PVA and blue grit.
- Fix skim beads.
- Understand and carryout preparations required prior to plastering and gain knowledge of different backgrounds that receive plaster.
- Understand the different tools and equipment used in plastering.
- Understand the range of materials used in plastering including bonding, multi finish, hardwall, different beads, PVA, Thistle Bond-It, etc.
- Fully answer all your questions related to what is covered on the course, you are taught by experienced tradesmen with a passion for the trade.

If you have any questions relating to anything that you have covered on your course you are free to contact your tutor or the centre, by telephone, email or by calling into the centre. There is no charge for this and you can call at anytime in the future.
You will not spend anytime on this course fixing boards or wasting anytime removing your work from the walls. We will arrange this for you. You will be skimming from the morning of day one.
If you require extra practice skimming you can attend our 1-day skimming practice days. These 1-day courses are only for people who have completed a course with us and want to practice plastering over larger areas, for example, 4m / 5m long walls.
Spaces are limited to 10 people on a course at any one time and each person will have their own training area, tools and materials (no sand and lime mixes are used during your training course, you will be applying multi-finish).
