This centre is engaged in high quality work with learners from a variety of backgrounds.

This centre has probably the best standards and systems of all the construction centres visited by me.

Date of City & Guilds External Verifier visit, August 5^th 2009

Two good observations, one for the underpinning knowledge questions & the other covering both the practical & underpinning knowledge questions both for Unit 018 (6217-04) both candidates successfully achieved the Unit, well done to both candidates & both staff members. All candidates & centre staff wearing the correct PPE. Good trade practices & safe working practices are being followed in all the practical workshops, good theory is also being taught to the candidates. Good quality practical work being completed by the candidates.

Very good range of underpinning knowledge questions which have just been re-developed by all the Assessors team & overseen by the Internal Verifier therefore ensuring standardization, a very good team effort. Excellent support given to every Candidate & all Centre Staff from the Top Centre management a very efficient Team.

Good quality materials are being used in each trade area, & also good quality hand tools & power tools being used. Good standard of workmanship is being achieved by the Candidates, all safety equipment in place & used by the Candidates, all Candidates & Centre Staff all wearing the correct PPE. Good trade practices are being taught & demonstrated by the Centre staff. Good photographic evidence is being used to support the practical work.

Very good trade practices are being taught in both the classroom & in the practical workshops, which reflects in the quality of the candidates practical work & the underpinning knowledge question answers given by the candidate. If required the centre does provide a one to one support for the candidates.

Very clear recording by all the assessors in the C & G test booklets with all underpinning knowledge questions fully marked & recorded. Good support from the centre management team to all staff members who wants to further develope there own CPD. The Internal Verifier system in use at this centre is still one of the best, very good working relationship between the IV & centre staff, regular team meetings are being held. Regular assessor observations with clear written feedback is given by the IV with full support & guidance.

Good clear audit trail to follow, every practical test booklet correctly completed, supported by good photographic evidence & the underpinning knowledge questions all fully marked & recorded correctly by the assessors, IV sampling very thorough & correctly recorded. The centre management team continues to fully support every candidate & every staff member, well done to all the candidates & centre staff.
