20 Day Complete Domestic Installer Course

We now offer a 20 day domestic installer course which is proving popular because:

  1. Currently to register as a domestic installer you must have a Level 3 17th Edition Qualification.
  2. You must also when being assessed to join a part p installer scheme show knowledge and understanding of domestic installations and testing.
  3. For new entrants to the trade you will need to progress from a foundation level to enable you to acheive the level 3 in the timescales of this course structure.

During the 20 days of training you will complete the following:

Foundation Electrical Course  - You will complete 5 days of electrical training.  This is an introductory and practical based course so as to give you an understanding of domestic electrical installations and is ideal for new entrants into the trade.  Throughout your training you will install a consumer unit and from the consumer units a ring circuit, radial circuit, lighting circuits and then test those installations whilst completing relevant certificates.  During the course we wil lalso cover the theory related to what you are completing practically.  A more detailed explanation can found by clicking here

Full Scope Part P Domestic Installer - You will complete a further 5 days of electrical training.  This unit of the training is approx 70% theory and 30% practical and it assesses the knowledge and competence of the candidate against typical domestic electrical installations.  Upon completion you will receive an industry recognised qualification.  A more detailed description of the course content can be found by clicking here

2392 Certificate in Fundamdental Inspection and Testing and Initial Verification. - This course covers initial inspection and testing.  Inspection and testing is an important part of electrical installations and it is also something that you will be required to prove competence in during an inspection to join a Part P Domestic INstaller Scheme.  A more detailed description of the course content can be found by clicking here

2382-12 17th Edition -
This is the latest 17th edition course and now replaces the 2382-10 qualification.  The 17th edition qualifications is what is required to apply to join a part p installers scheme.  A more detailed description of the course content can be found by clicking here


This course, as with all our training courses, is intensive and aimed at providing you with as much quality training as possible in the time you are at the centre, therefore you will spend every hour of every day learning and practicing.  We are able to include so many elements into the training as you are taught by experienced tradespeople who have many years experience of completing the content in a working environment. 

There are no more than 10 people on a course at any one time and each person will have their own training tools and materials and everyone on the course has either paid for the course themselves or has had access to limited funding, so everyone is here to learn as much as possible.

Before attending the course please feel free to compile a list of questions relating to the trades and if you have any projects that you intend on completing after your training please bring details with you.

 

Duration and Cost

20 full days in duration, from 8am until 4pm at the Willenhall centre and from 9am until 5pm at the Stoke centre. Please arrive at the training centre at least 15 minutes before the course start time.

The cost of this course is £2200 INC VAT and there are no hidden extra costs. You only need to bring yourself, work clothes, suitable footwear and your lunch, we will provide everything else - there is even free tea and coffee.

During the course you will be assessed for the following certificates (if you fail any assessments you will receive a free resit)

Who is this course suitable for?

This course is designed for people with little or no previous experience and who wish to learn the key aspects of domestic electrical installations. People attend this course either because they wish to learn the skills to complete work to a high standard on their own properties, or for people who wish to supplement their income by working part time as a self employed trades person or for those who wish to take the first step towards changing their career. Other tradesmen also attend this course so that they can add another skill to increase work options.
