We at Construction Skills College are proud of our continuous partnership with B&Q. Recently we have worked with B&Q to develop the You Can Do It training centres that are currently in 15 stores throughout the UK.
A member of our team worked with the YCDI project team to design the training centres and bays and to develop classes that are available in store.
Construction Skills College are also the only training centre in the UK that provide training to You Can Do It staff in plastering, plumbing, wall and floor tiling, carpentry and painting and decorating.

B&Q knows that 65% of homeowner have undone jobs around the house, and we can help customers tick these jobs off their to-do list – by giving them the skills and confidence to get the job done. We’ve worked with Construction Skills College in developing the courses and enjoyed expanding the range of courses we can provide to our customers, ensuring our customers get a hands on, practical and fun session which gives them the skills and expert advice they need to do the job in their own home.

Hi Dave and team, hope you are all keeping well!
My reason for writing is two-fold. I would firstly like to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for all the support and exceptionally warm welcome I received during my stay- it was second to none and has stood to me greatly in terms of running my classes- so thank you. Secondly I would like to commend the professionalism and teaching ability of your entire team and extend a sincere thank you to each of them for there inexhaustible patience and guidance.
However, I feel really compelled to give both H and Rob a special mention as both of these guys are in a league of their own when it comes to instructing, and I don’t say that lightly as I have come through the Irish apprenticeship programme and have encountered some really fine instructors. Both of these guys, however have an uncanny ability to put you at complete ease and impart their knowledge in a simple and direct fashion whilst simultaneously making the entire experience great craic. Indeed I have mimicked much of their teaching style, and unsurprisingly I have received phenomenal feedback! So I suppose all that’s left to say is a genuinely massive thank you and please god ill see you all again some time soon, and as they say in my adopted city- you are all TOP BLOKES!
