5 Days Bricklaying Course with City & Guilds Unit Certificate
Who is this course suitable for?
This course is suitable for people who have little or no experience of bricklaying. The course is practical based with supporting theory information. Please feel free to bring with you details of projects that you plan on completing.
Course Objectives and Certification.
We aim to make all attendees proficient with the basic tools, materials, backgrounds, preparations, and techniques of bricklaying.
We will supply all tools and materials required. You will also receive a level 2 unit certificate issued by City & Guilds
You will cover the following units:
- Understand the use of hand tools and equipment used in bricklaying.
- Understand the use of materials used in bricklaying.
- Understand using drawings for projects.
- Understand the purpose of planning, organising and setting out a work area.
- Construct 4" and 9" brick walls, 90° corners, and attached piers.
- Construct block walls with 90° corners.
- Construct cavity walls, straight and 90° corners including ties and damp proof course.
- Understand different bonds-English Garden Wall Bond, Stretcher Bond, etc.
- Demonstrate producing neat and tidy cuts to bricks.
- Demonstrate pointing and finishing.
- Understanding the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise. You will also be provided with support after completing your course and you are able to contact your tutor, email or call into the training centre to discuss your queries.
- Fully answer all your questions related to the trade.
- Full support after completing your course. If you have any questions relating to anything that you have covered on your course you are free to contact your tutor or the centre by telephone, emnail or calling into the centre. There is no charge for this and you can call into the centre at anytime in the future.

Duration and Cost.
5 Days in duration, from 8am until 4pm at Willenhall centre and from 9am until 5pm at the Stoke centre. Please arrive at the centre at least 15 minutes before the course start time.
The cost of this course is £450 INC VAT and there are no hidden costs. You only need to bring yourself, work clothes, suitable footwear and your lunch, we will provide everything else - there is even free tea and coffee.
We ask for a non-refundable deposit of £100 to secure your place on a course and full payment 10 days prior to the course start date. If you wish to discuss other payment option please contact the centre on 01782 837007. The deposit will be subtracted from the total cost of the course, £100 deposit with £350 outstanding.
