4 Days BS7671:January 2008, FULL 17th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations Course

This qualification has been developed for candidates who have not achieved a formal qualification in BS 7671 since June 2001, and require to be updated to the current edition of BS 7671: January 2008. Equally it can be used for candidates who wish to demonstrate technical compliance of BS 7671: January 2008 for competent persons schemes.

The fundamental objective of this qualification is to enable candidates to develop their understanding and application of BS 7671: January 2008.  The qualification also assesses the knowledge and competence of the candidates against the standard.

Ideal for all those involved in electrical installation work of any kind. Delegates should have an understanding of electrical principles together with experience of electrical installation work.

Objectives Of The Qualification

  • This qualification was developed under the guidance of industry, colleges and training associations with a number of objectives in mind, namely to:
  • Give candidates an understanding of the applications BS7671:2008
  • Enable candidates who have not achieved a formal qualification in BS7671 since June 2001, to become current with the full requirements of BS7671:2008.
  • Provide the electrical installation industry with a pool of staff with a nationally recognised qualification

The objective of the Qualification is to impart the necessary understanding and application of BS7671:2008. This includes the use of the appendices within the standard.

On successful completion of the qualification the candidate will be able to find, explain and apply regulations within the current edition of BS7671

To achieve this qualification the candidate is required to complete all 8 mandatory units: which follows each of the 7 Parts of BS7671:2008 and unit 8 covers the appendices.

Understanding of the scope, object and fundamental principles of the BS 7671:2008
Knowledge and understanding of the essential definitions specified in the BS7671:2008
Knowledge and understanding required to assess the general characteristics of the energy source or supply, and the installation
Knowledge and understanding of protection for safety of electrical installations
Knowledge and understanding of selection and erection of equipment for electrical installations
Knowledge and understanding of Inspection and testing and reporting for electrical installations
Knowledge and understanding of special installations or locations and their requirements for electrical installations
Understanding of the relevant appendices of the BS 7671:2008

Duration and Cost.

4 Days in duration from 8am until 4pm at the Willenhall centre and from 9am until 5pm at the Stoke centre.  PLease arrive at the centre at least 15 minutes before the course start time.

The cost of this course is £495 INC VAT and includes, the cost of registering you with the awarding body and certification. PLEASE NOTE: You will need to bring with you your own copy of the 17th edition regulations.

  • If your company has 4 or more people wishing to attend this course it may be possible to add an additional date to suit.

 

Although a candidate does not need to have formal prior knowledge in the form of recognised qualifications, a candidate for this qualification should have some knowledge and practice of electrical installations.  It should be recognised that candidates without this minimum knowledge and practice are unlikely to be able to complete the course in the notional learning hours allocated to it as they will require more detailed input.
