10 Day Kitchen Fitting Course with EDI Level 2 National Award
Who is this course suitable for?

This course is aimed at people who wish to learn the skills required to install kitchen units. The course is practical based with supporting theory and we will provide all tools and materials needed. This course, as with all our training courses, is intensive and aimed at providing you with as much quality training as possible in the time you are at the centre, therefore you will spend every hour of every day learning and practicing.
Course Objectives.
We aim to make all attendees proficient with the basic tools, materials, backgrounds, preparations, and techniques of kitchen fitting.
You will cover the following units:

- Identify and use tools, equipment and materials used for kitchen fitting.
- Reading kitchen plans
- How to plan and design kitchen layouts to meet customer requirements.
- Location of cables and pipes.
- Planning for electrical sockets, water pipes and waste, dishwashers, fridges, freezers and extractor fan hood.
- Dealing with corners and uneven walls.
- Assembling carcasses.
- Installation of base and wall units.
- Scribing and cutting to meet uneven walls.
- WORKTOPS - Preparation of
- WORKTOPS - Setting out, mitre cuts, using jig and router.
- WORKTOPS - Cutting out of sink and cooker hob recesses.
- Measuring and cutting mitre joints, and fitting plinths, pelmets and cornice.
- Fitting and levelling doors.
- Understanding products, their suitable uses, terminology and jargon used.
- Understanding the different methods used to price jobs, dealing with customers and overcoming problems that may arise. You will also be provided with support after completing your course and you are able to contact your tutor, email or call into the training centre to discuss your queries.
- Fully answer all your questions relating to the trade.
- Full support after completing your course. If you have any questions relating to anything that you have covered on your course you are free to contact your tutor or the centre by telephone, email or by calling into the centre. There is no charge for this and you can call at anytime in the future.
- This course does not include any training on completing plumbing work within a kitchen. The reason for this is due to the amount of time needed on the above units and we feel it is better that you practice the above rather than spend time learning another trade. Our 5 day plumbing course would be sufficient to learn this skill.
Duration and Cost.
10 full days in duration from 9am until 5pm at the Stoke centre. Please arrive at the training centre at least 15 minutes before the course start time.
The cost of this course is £750 INC VAT and there are no hidden extra costs. You only need to bring yourself, work clothes, suitable footwear and your lunch, we will provide everything else - there is even free tea and coffee.
We ask for a non-refundable deposit of £100 to secure your place on a course and full payment 10 days prior to the course start date. if you wish to discuss other payment options please contact the centre on 01782 837007. The deposit is subtracted from the total cost of the course, £100 deposit with £650 outstanding.
